The pass rate is down by 6 percent compared to the last year. This year’s SLC result is the second worst result of this decade.
The decline in the pass rate is likely to cause a serious impact in the education sector, claim education policy analyst.
According to the Exam Controller’s Office, Sanothimi, a total of 17,229 had sat for the SLC exam as exempted students, while 8,318 (7.76%) became successful.
At a press conference organized after the announcement of the result, Examinations Controller Khagraj Baral said among the total passed, there were 96,454 boys and 71,481 girls.

When inquired about the reason behind the declining pass percentage, SLC exam conduction committee chairman and Secretary at Education Ministry, Som Lal Subedi failed to answer why but said the exam was held in a disciplined way and questions prepared from within the textbook.
However, he said irregular study was hindrance to quality education.
Educationist Dr Bidyanath Koirala said the exam result this year has proved that the investment in school education was wasted.
Government can’t escape its responsibility saying students did not learn and teachers took regular class, he argued.
The Office of the Controller of Examinations stopped publishing the result in newspaper from this year and made a provision to get the result through the internet and through the telephone service.
The results could be accessed through SMS by sending the required information to 1400 (Nepal Telecom), 500 (Janaki Technology), 2722 (Apca Nepal), 5566 (focusone), 2,333 (Miracle Infocom), 4949 (EG service) and 5225 (Teletalk).

Responding to journalists’ query over the leakage of the result by office staff one hour before it was announced, Secretary Subedi said an investigation would be carried out into the issue and action will be taken against those found involved in it.
The Office of the Examination Controller in Thimi that used to witness a large crowd of students, parents and well wishers after the results were announced every year looked deserted this year, thanks to the development of technology that provides the SLC results in the people’s computer and telephone.अन्य ताजा समाचार र विचार पढ्नका लागि हामीसँग फेसबुकलाइक र फलो गर्नुहोस्, तपाई ट्वीटरमा पनि समाचार प्राप्त गर्नु सक्नुहुनेछ ।
